I’ve been listening to brain wave music and I’m wondering if these wave labels are grouped into something else I might know like Gamma, Theta, delta, alpha, beta?

Like when a pair of similarly tuned piano forks are brought close together, when only one has been struck and set to oscillate, the other sympathetically vibrates. It has been proposed that the cortical rhythms can resonate with the earth’s electromagnetic stationary waves through a similar frequency-following response.
I’ve been reading a combination of Tesla’s works as well as some discussions on brainwave activity during meditative states and noticed a strong parallel similarity with the brain and the planet’s electromagnetic rhythms.

I am curious what others have to say, and any direction given to pursue this further. Thanks.

Rhythm detection is controlled by some areas of the brain such as the Cerebellum and a tiny structure called Suprachiasmatic Nucleus (SCN) which controls our body clock for many cyclical processes. While they influence parts of the brain in response to rhythms (through learning and practice of course), they dont influence the whole brain.
This means, soundwaves and rhythms are processed differently in the brain from electromagnetic waves, so treat them separately.

Not sure about brainwave activity during meditative stage but you must remember that brainwave activity as measured by EEG or electroencephalogram only measures brainwave activity that is summed up and averaged. It also only measures activity of the brain nearest to the scalp; not the deeper areas like the ones i mentioned that controlled rhythms. The measure of brainwave activity is an average, not a total measurement of activity.

But, some people have found therapeutic benefits (backed up with some research too) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging scans. The machine takes images by using huge powerful magnets to change the direction of electrons in our brain cells for a split second. Little is known of this effect, but so far it has not been proven to be damaging.
Also Electroconvulsive therapy and Deep Brain Stimulation, both of which involve using mild electric currents to run through parts of the brain, has shown some therapeutic benefits for some disorders, although very little is known on how it does so. Yet it is still used as a treatment!

You might want to look up more on Deep Brain Stimulation, and your theories about electricity and Tesla’s works to come up with your own explanation of electrical regulation in the brain =)

In electromagnetic radiation the amplitude is merely the beam intensity at its electric or its magnetic peak.

If white light his a blue shirt you see blue because of the energy levels of the blue pigment in the shirt dye.

Radio waves – much longer
infrared – longer
X-rays – much shorter
gamma ray – much shorter
ultraviolet – shorter

14/7 = 2 Hz

30/5 = 6 Hz

0.5/10 = 0.05 Hz

The wavelength and frequency are always inversely related by definition.

IR transfers heat. The waves are a tad longer than visible light.

Visible light is attenuated by the optic nerve so that we “see” them.

X-rays have extremely short wavelengths. They possess high energy. They can be used to image hidden objects and also detect atomic-level features in crystals.

No, brain activity is not very well represented by waves, especially in two dimensions. Brain activity is too complex to illustrate in full for graphical purposes, but it is both biochemical (in the form of neurotransmitters that send signals across synapses between neurons) and electrophysiological (in the form of saltatory conduction, primarily through sodium channels along neurons.

My husband and I are super stressed out and we are looking for a 1-2 day meditation/relaxation retreat. We want to go some place close (within 3 hours of Orange County) and follow a program of meditation/relaxation. Possibly stay over night and do the same thing the next day. No cell phones, computers, interruptions. Any leads would be much appreciated.

Sort of in the middle of california is Mount Madonna, where they have the UMS annual retreat. Even though they call themselves the University of Metaphysical Sciences, the retreat is pretty much about meditating. It may work just as well to buy a vacation home in Southern California where you don’t know anyone, and don’t introduce yourself. I know Taylor Morrison sells homes there.

it has a direct influence how (hard) a person is seeking out and trying to make clear the avenue for abiding in God?

i.e. if you are fill your body w/ intoxicants, your perception of God and things of God will be duller than if not, if you don’t exercise or eat healthfully, your mind won’d be as sharp because of stress, lack of nutrients etc., if you watch tv all the time, your brains alpha waves (stupid neurons) will exceed your brains beta waves (smart neurons {that come from active learning, -praying-, and intelligent interaction}) to name just a few examples of lifestyle choices……….

Do you agree? or what do you think about the importance of lifestyle as it relates to the Christian life in particular?

The Apostle Paul, a Christian, said he did all things for the sake of the good news; 1st Corinthians 9:23.

Other Christians should do the same.

One of the main reasons I became a Christian is for one of your reasons; my family just sat around and watched T.V. endlessly. I, on the other hand, wanted intellectual stimulation. I found this stimuli searching for God.

Now, I understand history (in light of the Bible) and the reason for mankind’s inability to find peace; a world without war, ect. etc.

I try to eat right, and spend time in study. One thing I have learned throughout the years is, food is food. But, you can eat fruits and veggies everday.
